Senior Congress leader Salman Khurshid said sonia Gandhi should decide the issue of leadership in the party

Senior Congress leader Salman Khurshid said sonia Gandhi should decide the issue of leadership in the party. Khurshid said that there is no need to choose a party president immediately so that the sky will be broken. Sonia Gandhi is now operating and Sonia Gandhi should decide on the leadership issue.

In the CWC meeting held last week, it was decided to retain Sonia as the interim chairman. However, the CWC had said that the new chairman of the party would be elected within 6 months.

"Even if I contact me, I don't sign the letter."

In an interview to PTI, Khurshid said that even if the people who wrote to Sonia Gandhi had written to Sonia Gandhi that there should be a change from top to bottom, I would not have done so even if they had approached me to sign the letter. Those who wrote the letter reached Sonia Gandhi and should have met Sonia Gandhi instead of writing letters. Senior leaders of Jammu and Kashmir have been in the top positions of the party for years and even when such elections have not taken place, the party has gone ahead.

The 23 party leaders wrote to Sonia demanding a change in the party, which was written before the CWC meeting. Thereafter, Ghulam Nabi Azad said on Thursday that if elections are not held in key posts in the Congress, the Congress will have to sit in opposition for 50 years.

"Interim President Sonia is not an ordinary person"

He said that we have leaders when we talk about people like me. We have Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi. I don't see any immediate need for the party to be elected leader. When a president is elected, it will be there. I don't think the sky is breaking.

He said that I have not yet been clear why such a hurry was needed. We don't have a part-time president, a full-time president and he is not an ordinary person. Sonia Gandhi is the interim president and is the longest president in the Congress. We should leave the decision on when they take the steps.
